Supporting people with diabetes
Diabetes is called noncommunicable disease of Finland. Finland has a population of 5.4 million. There are about 50 000 people with type 1 diabetes and about 250 000 people with type 2 diabetes in Finland. 3800 children under the age of 15 have diabetes. The number of undiagnosed cases of type 2 diabetes is estimated at 150 000. Still, every diabetes is individual.
Diabetes fair provides information and support to people with diabetes and their families on different aspects of living with diabetes. There is also programme for the professionals of the health care.
